Tarikapuy, an invitation to recycle at home

 

In Chile, each person produces around 1.25 kilos of garbage per day. A couple can easily dispose of 75 kilos of trash per month and 900 kilos per year. This according to data delivered by Greenpeace in 2016.

The call to recycle around the world is urgent, and that is how they understood it in Tarikapuy.

They were the winners of our Providencia Innovation Providencia 2018 and that is why today they work together with the Department of Environment, Cleanliness, Ornamentation and Maintenance of Providencia, in the execution, promotion and diffusion of home recycling projects.

HOW DO THEY DO THAT?

The process includes workshops and awareness-raising talks, installation of containers in different neighborhoods, removal of trash and transfer of waste to recycling plants.

Carolina Arredondo, neighbor, actress and member of Tarikapuy, tells us that they currently recycle plastic, paper and glass, and that in the future they want to recycle other elements that are harmful to health and the environment.
