The objective of the Extended Producer Responsibility Law is to reduce the generation of waste, promoting reuse and recycling through the extended responsibility of the producer. This law obliges the manufacturers of certain products to organize and finance the management of the waste derived from their products through managers such as Tarikapuy with the aim of "reducing the generation of waste and encouraging its reuse, recycling and other type of recovery".
